Release notes
Each version below lists what you notice after updating. The complete technical history is in the plugin’s CHANGELOG.md.
1.12.0 — 2026-09-23
Section titled “1.12.0 — 2026-09-23”- The Email column no longer looks like a failure when something else sends the email. A form whose own notification is switched off now shows Off rather than a dash that reads as a delivery problem. Where a FlowMint workflow sends your team’s email, the column shows what the workflow did and links to the run.
1.11.0 — 2026-09-21
Section titled “1.11.0 — 2026-09-21”- Real files are accepted. A content check refused most photos, PDFs and every Adobe Illustrator file with File contains potentially dangerous content. It is replaced by checks that look at what each type of file can actually hide. Program code is still refused, and messages now say what to do.
- SVG files and EPS files with a preview can be uploaded when a field lists them. An SVG with scripts is refused.
- No more “Thanks” for a submission that was not saved. A double tap could show an error and a thank-you message together, with nothing saved. The button now locks at the first tap, one message replaces the other, and a repeat only says thank you once the first copy is saved.
- File size problems show up straight away. A file that is too large or the wrong type is caught as soon as it is chosen, and the size shown is the one that really applies.
- Honeypot submissions are kept as spam, so one filled in by a password manager can be restored with Mark as Not Spam.
- Notification emails stay deliverable. Files over 10 MB in total are linked instead of attached, and resent emails keep their attachments.
- Names with an apostrophe, such as O’Brien, no longer gain a backslash.
1.10.1 — 2026-09-19
Section titled “1.10.1 — 2026-09-19”- Deleting the plugin keeps entries, forms and files unless Settings → Remove all data when Promptless Forms is deleted is ticked. Up to version 1.10.0 it always removed them.
- AI assistants get the rules on every install. On a site installed from the release ZIP, the connector’s rulebook link used to answer “not found”; it now serves the rules and the form schema.
- Missed-call leads reach the Twilio client’s Webhook URL (its lead sheet). They never did before.
- Shorter required-field messages. They no longer repeat the field label, which read badly for labels that are questions. They are now This field is required., Check this box to continue., Choose at least one option. and Choose a file to upload. Format messages such as “Email must be a valid email address.” are unchanged.
- AI assistants embed forms correctly. The rules the connector gives
assistants named
[fre_form], a shortcode that no longer exists, so their forms showed as plain text. They now use[pforms_form]. - Assistants are now told to give every required dropdown a placeholder, so a skipped question cannot submit the first option.
- The Forms admin screens work again. Since 1.8.0, Save Form, Delete, Copy, Test Connection, Preview Payload, Regenerate and the entry actions did nothing, and entry search led to an error page.
- Conditions behave the same in the browser and on the server. Radio
buttons, checkboxes and messages now hide; a required field in a hidden
section no longer blocks the form;
containson a checkbox group keeps the visitor’s answer; keys with capital letters work. Radio buttons and checkboxes followcolumn. - A required file upload is required. The form used to accept a submission without the file.
- Multi-step forms check each step before Next unless
validate_on_nextisfalse. ajax="false"on the shortcode no longer loses submissions; it is ignored.- An entry’s Email status reads Not sent when notifications are off, instead of Failed.
1.10.0 — 2026-09-17
Section titled “1.10.0 — 2026-09-17”- Notifications are no longer sent “from” the visitor. A
{field:…}token innotification.from_emailmade the email come from the visitor’s address, which services such as SES, Postmark, SendGrid and Resend refuse. Such a token is now refused when you save a form. Put the visitor inreply_toinstead. - A form saved earlier with such a token now sends from WordPress’s default
sender, and uses the token as the reply-to address when
reply_tois empty. reply_tohas no default. Set"reply_to": "{field:email}"for replies to go to the visitor.
1.9.1 — 2026-09-14
Section titled “1.9.1 — 2026-09-14”- Pages without a form no longer load the form stylesheets when Promptless WP’s neo-brutalist style is on.
1.9.0 — 2026-09-12
Section titled “1.9.0 — 2026-09-12”- Forms and admin screens use mirrored stylesheets on right-to-left sites, such as Arabic and Hebrew.
1.8.8 — 2026-09-12
Section titled “1.8.8 — 2026-09-12”- Forms on cached pages no longer fail with “Your session expired”. The form now fetches a fresh security token before submitting, and if one is still refused, it retries once on its own.
- Uploaded files survive that retry. Previously the file was silently dropped.
- A lost response is no longer reported as a failure. When the answer from the site does not arrive, the visitor is told the submission may already have gone through and asked to retry on the same page, which does not create a duplicate.
1.8.7 — 2026-09-06
Section titled “1.8.7 — 2026-09-06”- Accessibility: error messages and field descriptions are now read out by screen readers when the field is focused, fields in error are marked as invalid, the error text has enough contrast, and the submit button shows a visible focus outline.
1.8.6 — 2026-09-02
Section titled “1.8.6 — 2026-09-02”- A form left open for more than 24 hours no longer shows “Please wait a moment before submitting.”
- Connector fixes: the schema document assistants read is found, rate limits count each request once, and HTTPS sites on a local machine can be reached.
