What Promptless Forms is
Promptless Forms is a free WordPress plugin for contact forms, quote requests, applications and other forms a visitor fills in. It shows the form, checks what the visitor typed, stores the submission as an entry, emails you, and can pass the data on to another service.
What it does
Section titled “What it does”- 13 field types — text, email, phone, message box, dropdown, radio buttons, checkboxes, file upload, date, address with Google Places suggestions, hidden values, display-only messages and section headings. See Field types.
- Layout — fields side by side in columns, grouped in sections, or split across steps with a progress indicator. See Layout and steps.
- Conditional logic — show a field only when another answer calls for it. See Conditional logic.
- Entries — every submission is kept in the WordPress admin, where you can read it, mark it, export it to CSV or delete it. See Entries.
- Email notifications — a formatted email for each submission. See Email notifications.
- Webhooks — send each submission to Google Sheets, Zapier, Make or your own endpoint. See Webhooks.
- Spam protection — a hidden honeypot field, a minimum fill-in time and rate limits, on by default. See Spam protection.
Forms are written as JSON
Section titled “Forms are written as JSON”There is no drag-and-drop builder. A form is a short piece of JSON that lists its fields and settings:
{ "title": "Contact Us", "fields": [ {"key": "name", "type": "text", "label": "Name", "required": true}, {"key": "email", "type": "email", "label": "Email", "required": true}, {"key": "message", "type": "textarea", "label": "Message", "required": true} ]}You paste it into Form Entries → Forms in the WordPress admin, or an AI assistant writes it for you through the connector. Because the whole form is one piece of text, it is easy to copy between sites, keep in version control, or ask an assistant to change.
Developers can also register forms in PHP with pforms_register_form() on the
pforms_init hook. Those forms are not listed on the Forms screen, and
the webhook settings are only available to forms saved on that screen or
through the connector.
How it fits with the rest of the stack
Section titled “How it fits with the rest of the stack”- Promptless WP — when it is active, forms take its brand colours, fonts, corner radius and neo-brutalist style, and a form inside a dark section switches to dark colours. Place a form in a section with the Shortcode media type, or in a modal. Forms also work without Promptless WP, with their own default styling.
- FlowMint Workflows — FlowMint listens for completed submissions and runs its own workflows from them, such as saving uploads to Google Drive or deleting old entries on a schedule. Forms does not need FlowMint.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- No visual form builder, no payments and no calculated fields.
- Forms are shown with a shortcode only; there is no block or widget.
