Header Buttons

The header can show up to two buttons, such as Book a visit and Call us. Each button takes its colours and shape from Promptless WP’s button styles, so it matches the buttons in your sections.

  1. Go to Appearance → Customize → Header → Header CTA.
  2. Enter Button 1 Text and Button 1 URL. A button appears only when both are filled in.
  3. Choose Button 1 Style and Button 1 on Mobile.
  4. For a second button, fill in the Button 2 fields the same way.
  5. Select Publish.

To remove a button, clear its text or its URL.

The styles use the Primary, Secondary and Ghost button settings from Promptless WP’s Global Settings, in their compact size.

On screens wider than the menu breakpoint, every button shows in the header row, whatever its on Mobile setting. Below the breakpoint:

  • A button set to Keep in header bar stays next to the menu button.
  • A button set to Move into mobile menu appears inside the menu drawer when it opens.
  • Only one button can stay in the header bar. If both are set to Keep in header bar, button 2 moves into the menu.

Mobile Menu Button Position places the moved buttons in the drawer. Between top bar and menu means between the top bar’s links and the main menu, so it only applies when the top bar is set to Collapse into Hamburger Menu. Without that, the buttons go to the top of the menu instead.

The breakpoint is set in Header → Mobile Menu Breakpoint; see Header.

An AI assistant connected through Promptless WP’s connector can set every option on this page with wordpress_header_set. See Connector Tools.

  • The button does not appear. Both the text and the URL must be filled in.
  • Button 2 is in the menu on phones although it is set to stay. Button 1 is also set to stay, and only one fits.
  • The buttons are at the top of the drawer, not between the top bar and the menu. The top bar is off, has no menus, or is set to Always Show at Top.
  • Two buttons is the limit. For more calls to action, add them as menu items or put them in a section.
