Global Settings

Global Settings hold the design choices every Promptless WP section shares: colours, fonts, corner rounding, button and card styles, and content width. Change one and every section on every page follows, as do the Promptless theme’s header and announcement bar and Promptless Forms.

  1. Open any page in the Promptless WP editor.
  2. Select the gear button in the toolbar (tooltip Global settings). The panel opens in the left sidebar with five tabs: Colors, Typography, Borders, Layout and History.
  3. Change what you need. The open page updates as you work; visitors see nothing yet.
  4. Select Save Settings in the toolbar to make the change live on every page.

To check the change on other pages first, or to have someone approve it, select Preview across site instead. The change is staged and can be previewed, shared, scheduled or discarded before it goes live. See Staging Global Settings Changes.

Leaving the editor with unsaved settings shows the browser’s unsaved-changes warning. Reset to Defaults, at the bottom of the panel, returns every setting to its default; press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac) straight away to undo it, and nothing is live until you save.

Quick Setup

Browse Color PresetsOpens the preset library to apply a full 12-colour palette. See Colors & Branding.—
Smart Accessibility ColorsWhen Enabled, Promptless WP calculates text, link, icon and button-text colours for each section so they reach WCAG AA contrast (4.5:1) against the background they sit on, changing your colours as little as possible. When Disabled, your colours are used exactly as set, except in sections with a custom background colour or their own palette, which are always adjusted.Disabled

Font Selection — each font setting offers system fonts, a built-in list of Google Fonts, and any custom fonts. Browse Font Presets applies a matched set of heading, body, button and eyebrow fonts. See Typography.

Lists every applied change to these settings, with who made it and where it came from, and lets you restore an earlier version. See Staging Global Settings Changes.

  • A section ignores a global colour. It has its own Section Palette or a custom background colour. Both are in the section’s Layout tab.
  • Changes show in the editor but not on the site. They are not saved. Select Save Settings, or apply the staged change. A page cache on the host may also need clearing.
  • Your AI assistant can change these settings. Through the connector it can read and write everything here except the palette colours, which it changes through colour presets, and uploaded font files. See Connector Overview.
