AI Image Generation
Wherever the editor asks for an image, a Generate with AI button sits next to the Media Library button. It creates an image from your description with Replicate’s FLUX models, and saves the one you choose to the WordPress Media Library, where it can be reused like any other upload.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- The site needs a Replicate API key, entered in Replicate API Key on Promptless WP → AI Settings. Replicate bills the key’s owner per image. See AI Features Overview.
- You need the Developer (Full Access) access level. Other users see the button but generation is refused.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”The button appears on image fields that are empty: section images, card and item images, and section background images. If a field already has an image, remove it first to see the button again.
How to generate an image
Section titled “How to generate an image”- Select Generate with AI beside the image field. The Generate Image with AI window opens.
- In Image Description, describe the scene: the subject, the setting, the lighting and the mood.
- Set the options on the left (see the table below).
- Select Generate Image. The image appears on the right when it is ready.
- Select Use This Image to save it to the Media Library and place it in the field, or Regenerate for another attempt with the same settings.
Your option choices, but not the description, are remembered in the same browser for next time.

Higher quality uses a slower model. Replicate’s price per image depends on the model; see Replicate’s pricing page.
For a section background with text on top, choose Background and Text Safe, and pick an aspect ratio that matches the section’s shape.
Through the connector
Section titled “Through the connector”An AI assistant connected through the connector can also generate images, using the same Replicate key.
Limits and common problems
Section titled “Limits and common problems”- One image at a time. Wait a few seconds between generations.
- Unused images are not kept. Only Use This Image saves to the Media Library. Close the window without it and the image is gone.
- For real people, use a photograph. AI images are not suited to staff portraits or anything that must be accurate.
