SEO & Analytics
Promptless WP produces search-friendly pages without extra setup: a correct heading order, generated alt text, a description and social sharing tags, and structured data for search engines. When an SEO plugin is active, Promptless WP detects it and leaves shared ground to that plugin. Promptless WP does not include analytics; you add your analytics tool the usual WordPress way.
When to use it
Section titled “When to use it”- You want to know what a Promptless page already sends to search engines before adding an SEO plugin.
- You run Yoast SEO, Rank Math or another SEO plugin and want to know which plugin does what.
- You are adding Google Analytics or another tracking tool.
For the editor’s SEO panel, the structured-data details and Business Identity, see SEO Panel & Schema.
What Promptless WP does on every page
Section titled “What Promptless WP does on every page”| What | How it works |
|---|---|
| Heading order | The first section’s heading is the page’s H1 and every later section’s heading is an H2. Headings inside a section, such as card titles, are one level lower. You never set heading levels by hand. |
| Alt text | An image with no alt text of its own gets alt text generated from its context, such as the section or card heading or the team member’s name. Alt text you write always wins. See Accessibility. |
| Page content for search and SEO plugins | Each save copies the sections’ text into the page’s normal WordPress content and excerpt, so WordPress search, feeds and SEO plugins’ content analysis read the real page. |
| Description and social sharing tags | With no SEO plugin active, Promptless WP adds a meta description and Open Graph and Twitter Card tags. The description is the body text of the first section that has some, cut to about 155 characters. The sharing image is the page’s featured image, or else an image from the sections. |
| Structured data | schema.org data for FAQ, Steps, Pricing, Gallery, service and business content, built from the sections on the page. See SEO Panel & Schema. |
| Speed | Only the styles and scripts a page’s sections need are loaded, and the hero image is loaded first. See Performance. |
Working with SEO plugins
Section titled “Working with SEO plugins”Promptless WP detects Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress, The SEO Framework, Slim SEO and Squirrly SEO. You do not configure anything.
| No SEO plugin | Yoast SEO or Rank Math | Other SEO plugins | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta description and social sharing tags | Promptless WP | The SEO plugin | The SEO plugin |
| Page and business structured data | Promptless WP | The SEO plugin | Promptless WP, in a separate block beside the SEO plugin’s |
| Section structured data (FAQ, how-to, pricing, gallery, service) | Promptless WP | Promptless WP, added into the SEO plugin’s own data | Promptless WP, in a separate block beside the SEO plugin’s |
An SEO plugin is optional. Use one when you want what it adds: an XML sitemap with more control than WordPress’s own, per-page titles and descriptions, and focus-keyword analysis. Set page titles and descriptions in the SEO plugin; Promptless WP has no field for them.
How to add analytics
Section titled “How to add analytics”- Install your analytics tool the usual way: Google’s Site Kit plugin, a Google Tag Manager plugin, your theme’s code field, or your analytics provider’s own plugin.
- Check that the tag loads on a Promptless page. Tags added to WordPress’s page head or footer load on every display mode, including Canvas pages, which have no theme header or footer but still output WordPress’s head and footer code.
- To track button clicks or form submissions, set up the events in your analytics or tag manager tool. Promptless WP adds no tracking of its own.
Limits and common problems
Section titled “Limits and common problems”- Two meta descriptions or duplicate Open Graph tags. Two plugins are writing them. If your SEO plugin is not one of those listed above, Promptless WP does not detect it; turn off that plugin’s social tags, or switch to a detected plugin.
- The search snippet shows the wrong text. Without an SEO plugin, the description is the body text of the first section that has some. Change that text, or install an SEO plugin and write the description there.
- The analytics tag is missing on landing pages. The tag was added through a theme header template rather than WordPress’s head. Canvas pages do not use the theme’s header; add the tag through a plugin instead.
- Heading levels look wrong in an audit. The first section is always the H1. If the first section is not the page’s main heading, move the right section to the top. The editor’s audit flags heading problems; see Audit While You Edit.
